Oh Fall...How I Love You So (Nashville Farmer's Market)

There is something about this time of year that speaks to my soul.  I love the smells, the sights, the colors and the big Harvest Moon at night.

I love the Pumpkin Patches......

........and the big, round, fluffy Mums.

I love the beautiful landscape that God paints with yellows, reds, browns and golds.

I love the crackling fire at night.

Oh Fall...I do love you so.

My Spook Crew 2012

We have a lot of traditions we have established in our family with our Grandbabes. One of these, is having the whole family go trick or treating together...we load up in our cars and travel the local countryside in search of treats for our little Spooks.

This year, we all met at our home and had a chili supper with some sweet cupcakes, so everyone could get their energy level up for the nights activities.

We live off the main highway, so don't have many trick or treaters drop by. We would never expect a Treater to leave our home empty handed, so we always leave a bucket of treats on the doorstep.

It's always fun to take some snapshots of the Halloween decorations we encounter along the way.

Hope your Halloween was equally as fun this year!

Harrison Ford - No He Didn't !!

I'm so easily entertained, but I found this to be totally hilarious.  No.  Really?  What's that he is carrying?

Oh yeah.  That's right.  Harrison Ford has bought himself some Indiana Jones toys (collectibles).  Love that he has Mr. Potato Head....so do I.  Harrison, since we obviously have some common ground here, why not come on over and let's do lunch.

Entertaining Tip - Snack Container

Here is an entertaining tip for serving chips and snack items, ie crackers, pretzels, etc.  Serve your snacks in clear plastic or glass containers.  These containers are functional and attractive.

Visually, this is so much better than throwing an open sack of chips on the counter.  Your guests can serve themselves easily and your snacks will stay fresh and bug free (in case you are serving outdoors).

Just a simple tip with big impact.

The Art Of Cheeto Eating

There is an art to eating Cheetos that some of you might not know.  The first important thing to know, is proper hand placement.  This is helpful in keeping your digits out of harms way.

The next thing to know is the proper mouth stuffing technique.  The Cheeto should be slowly inserted, so the proper flavor populates the mouth.

When this technique is employed properly, you don't overcrowd the mouth.  A smaller bite is sometimes the right approach.

A light rest is suggested between crunches.

Continue to next Cheeto.

If you follow these steps, you too can become a true Cheeto aficionado.

ROAD TRIP - Hwy 27 Yard Sale Tennessee to Kentucky

Mike and I started out on the Longest yard sale route with the intent of actually doing some yard sale stops.  We got up early on Saturday morning and packed an outfit and a toothbrush, just in case we traveled far and wide.  We stopped for breakfast and then traveled about an hour before making our first stop - our intent was to go beyond where we have normally gone in the past.  We ended up stopping only about four times, and did a lot of driving and looking around.  It was fun and not what we actually meant to do.  We drove all the way to Danville, Kentucky.  We decided to head West and hit I65 down to Nashville.

During our Saturday adventures, we passed Wolf Creek Dam and stopped to stretch our legs and take a few scenic pics.

We drove until we lost the daylight on Saturday and spent the night in Campbellville, Kentucky.  This is where the clothes we packed came in handy.

On Sunday morning we woke up to rain.

After breakfast at the hotel, we took some backroads heading South to Nashville.

We were hankering for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory at Green Hills Mall.

With a 21 page menu, we felt sure we could find something enjoyable.  Really?  Who has a 21 page menu?

Let them eat cheesecake.

And we did. We opted for the original with strawberries.  Yum.

Another great road trip.  Did not buy a single item at any of the yard sale stops we made.  Nothing spoke to me, so there is always next year.  Hope you all had an equally wonderful weekend.

Just Checking In

Just checking in to let everyone know that I have not fallen down a rabbit hole or been beamed up by an Alien Spaceship.  Too much work and not enough time is laying around my shoulders right now.  I miss blogging and visiting with everyone but will be back as quickly as I am able.
