Paula Deen Is In The House

Paula Deen was in town today as part of the SHE Expo hosted by the Chattanooga Times Free Press. She put on a great show and was on stage longer than her alloted one hour timeframe.

Tiffany, Lexi and I staked out our seats when we first arrived as the Expo opened at 12:00... We had quite a wait as Paula was not due on stage until 4:30pm....it was a long wait but well worth it. Lexi was absolutely a little lady....at only 2 years old, she sat with us and never caused any fuss for the entire 4 and 1/2 hours that we sat in the same place. I took her on the floor a couple of times, but it was so crowded that I did not want her to be jostled about, so we stuck to the main center aisle and visited the Mayfield Ice Cream booth, where we picked up a sample of Pomegrate ice cream and sweet tea. Just like a good Southern Lady in Training, she took a nap about an hour before Paula's scheduled time, so she would be fresh and alert.

Miss Tennessee came on stage and sang a beautiful rendition of Martina McBride's song, Do It Anyway. She is from Soddy, Tn...a suburb of Chattanooga.
I love this picture...it looks like this lady is about to snatch Miss Tennessee's crown.

Some local firefighters were featured on one of the other stages, and were brought over to to the main stage just before Paula came on. Doesn't the one guy with the hat on look like Matt Damon?

Paula received a standing ovation when she took the Stage. She was absolutely gracious and totally funny throughout the whole presentation...she truly owned the show.

She called the Firefighters back up on stage and had a little fun dancing with them as she let them know how much the work they do was appreciated.

Paula's husband Micheal joined her, as well as her 'helper' who actually did ALL the cooking. She freely admitted that she is so busy talking that she forgets to cook and so needs as much help as she can get.

If you ever have a chance to attend one of Paula's shows, treat yourself. You won't be disappointed.
All the best,
Pin It!

That looked like an absolute blast! I haven't seen Paula in person, but I would love to go to one of her shows. She's a hoot!
Looks like you had great company. My two year old son would never sit still like that or take a nap. He would have torn down the whole set if he was there for four hours!
Thanks for sharing!

Hi again!
I wanted to thank you for the fabric idea for the lampshade. I might just try that.
