Wintry Day Casual Lunch

On a cold wintry day, there are few things better than a comfortable chair and a warm bowl of soup.  Obviously, after the soup will come a nap or curling up with a good book and a warm wrap.  Doesn't this make you want to do just that...do you have a preference...a nap or a good book?

Ooops...just noticed my reflection in the spoon...please ignore and just think to yourself that this is one clean and shiny spoon.

We are experiencing temps in the teens this week.  It is snowy outside and we have some accumulation on the ground already.  A good vegetable beef soup with a thick, hearty broth is just the thing to ward off the cold.

Apple and Pear S&P is from Cracker Barrel.

Stemware is Emerson from Southern Living At Home.

Dinnerplate - Bella Stoneware
Soup Bowl - Fitz and Floyd Town and Country

I'm joining Tablescape Thursday, graciously hosted each week by Susan from Between Naps on the Porch.  Please visit Susan and see her always beautiful tablescapes and links to other fab blogger's who have participated with their own wonderful offerings.  Click here to be magically transported to Susan's blog.

All the best,

Beautiful soup bowl, Anita! Your soup does look so good. There are so many things that I miss since going gluten free {just over a year ago} and soup is one of them. Who knew wheat flour was used in so many foods ~ soups and broths included!

Anita, I want to climb into that stately and comfy chair and have lunch, too. The soup would hit the spot. What a great location on a cold winter's day!

That looks yummy, although not on my diet:-) I have to look through your blog to see some photos of the window treatment I see by the chair...I 've been trying to think about something for my LR as I got a "new" antique persian rug and I was thinking blue. I love that fabric...
