I really enjoy the Twilight books and movies and this commerical clip from Verizon wireless is so funny. Take a look.

Classic Elements - Tabletop Tuesday
I've used a grouping of classic elements for my bedroom tabletop.
All The Best,
A plaster tile with a classic relief is paired with a stone look planter filled with a green vine. I used a rattan tray as a backdrop to soften the square lines.
My lampshade has a leopard print on the underside of the shade which is only revealed when the lamp is turned on.

Foodie Friday - Milk Chocolate Bar Cake
This cake is decadent and is NOT low calorie, in any form or fashion...but it is delicious and a crowd pleaser. I find that the cake tastes best if allowed to cool in the refrigerator for a couple hours before serving, but this is not a necessary step.
Milk Chocolate Bar Cake
1 pkg Swiss Chocolate Cake Mix (Duncan Hines)
1 8oz pkg Cream Cheese (softened)
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1/2 cup Grandulated Sugar
6 milk chocolate Hershey bars
1 12oz container Frozen Whipped Topping (thawed)
Prepare cake batter according to package directions. Bake in three 8 inch round cake pans and set aside to cool. Beat cream cheese and sugars at medium speed with electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Chop candy bars and spoon fold into whipped topping. Spread icing between cooled cake layers and on top. Chop additional candy bar and sprinkle over cake top, if desired.

Just We Two Tablescape
Susan from Between Naps on the Porch hosts this fun party weekly and I'm joining in this week with a tablescape. You can click on the link to visit with Susan and browse through many beautiful and creative tables this week.
This week, I'm setting a table for two. The sun is shining brightly outside today, something we have not seen much of lately but it's still hearty food weather. A tablesetting this time of year usually includes a bowl for a good soup or broth.
Salad Plate is a soft blue with a slight aqua tint and was puchased last summer from TJ Maxx
Dinner Plate is Fleur de lis by American Atelier
Charger is Cantebury from Southern Living at Home and is now retired
Flatware is Hampton but I don't remember the pattern. Napkin Rings are the same color burnished metal as the chargers and are from Pier One.
I decided to use the square plate and round charger because I like that it is not expected but still works. The texture of the plate design is a good layer to the throw that I'm using as a table covering.
Candle votives from Kirklands.
Iced Tea Goblet is Colonial by Gibson.

Shopping Finds
Is there anything more fun that opening presents? When I go shopping at my favorite stores and they wrap my purchases willy nilly in bubble wrap and white tissue paper, it makes me smile because I know that when I get home I can unwrap my purchases and discover them all over again.
I love these dogs. They are about 15 inches tall and are just too cute. No idea what I am going to do with them yet, but they will find a home somewhere.
You have probably heard the saying that something is so ugly it's cute...for this price, that is my sentiment exactly for these two guys.
Getting ready in my mind for picnic season. Found these cuties marked down.
Lenox napkins for $3.00
White pitcher...can't help myself when I see one of these my heart just sings. Beautiful white with clean, classic lines.
These beauties were not on sale, but I could not resist either.
Spring table lines
By the time I get home and open my packages, I have forgotten everything that I purchased so it really is like Christmas or my birthday. Does anyone else enjoy this rediscovery? Anyone been on a mad shopping spree lately? What did you find that you couldn't resist?

Breakfast Casserole for Foodie Friday
Please join Michael at Designs By Gollum to see a wide range of recipes provided this week for all tastes.
This week, I am posting a breakfast casserole that is fast and delicious. This casserole is a smaller portion than is normally seen where 8-12 eggs are needed...this recipe only calls for 3 eggs and would be the perfect size for 2-4 people.

Traditional Red and White for A Valentines Day Brunch
I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch this week, with a casual but elegant tablescape to celebrate Valentines Day. I have been blessed with being able to spend my life with a partner who is my best friend and confidant. The table is set in my breakfast nook in anticipation of a sweet VD brunch.
A cherub naps on the table, resting up for his big day.
Silver chargers, handpainted white dinner plates from and red salad plates
Small silver trays are used to hold votive candles at each placesetting.
Candlelight is a necessary indulgence for any romantic meal.
Along with being beautiful, candlelight makes everything sparkle gently. The low light makes the detail on the setting really stand out.
A crystal butter dish that I found at an antique shop.
A footed majolica dish holds faux cherries.
Coffee cups in the same pattern as the dinner plates.
I hope you enjoy this special day with your sweetheart.
